The full day covers both of the hours when the park is most alive, without asking you to leave and come back. We drive through the morning, stop for lunch at a place the park allows, and go out again while the light drops. It is the right choice if Udawalawe is the point of the trip, not a stop on the way to the coast.
Lunch is included. The pace is set by the animals, with a real break in the middle of the day so the afternoon is still worth doing.
This is a wild-park drive. Elephants are the reason most people come to Udawalawe, and they are still not a promise. Buffalo, deer, crocodile, and birds are part of an ordinary morning.
